Lake Lanier Islands Presents the Labor Day Weekend Celebration of 2013

Friday, August 30th, 2013

Labor Day Weekend begins today as boaters and celebrants begin to drift onto the Islands ready for a great time! We’ve worked hard to draft a great line-up of bands and live entertainment that will thrill fans of every genre across all age groups! We’re also very happy the weather has held up, and it promises to be a warm, and more importantly DRY weekend – perfect for barbecue, ice cold lemonade and Coke, and of course, all the water slides you can handle!

So come on out this weekend and join us at LanierWorld for a weekend filled with live music, drink specials and our famous fireworks show!

Here’s our entertainment line-up:

We’re pretty excited about all these great bands here this weekend, but we’re somehow EVEN MORE EXCITED that all our slides will be open and the weather is going to be perfect!! Check out the Aquatic Adventure, try wakeboarding at the Wake The Lake Cable Park, grab a Walking Taco from the Sunset Cantina, and plunge down the Intimidator for the best. Labor Day. Ever.

Wake the Lake!

Wednesday, June 5th, 2013

Have you ever wanted to learn how to do something magnificent? Skydive? Climb Everest? Ride a rocket to outer space? With our brand new Wake The Lake Cable Park, we can get you that adrenaline rush that’s just a notch down from those! Come take a ride with our amazing staff as you learn to wakeboard like a pro! Or, if you already are a pro, come take a ride and practice your whirlybirds and tantrums on our A-frame and platform before heading out with your boat crew!

Our incredible and patient staff at the Cable Park is ready to teach you the essentials, from putting on your helmet, to strapping on your board, to standing up! Even kids will have mastered the basics by the end of their first run! You’ll learn to start in the water or from the dock, which is always a crowd-pleaser.

Our boat-free tow line will take you down the lake and back as you learn how to balance and switch from toe-edge to heel-edge as you carve your way through the water.

And if you faceplant, our team will be right there to encourage you to grab that tow-line and get right back up on your board! Even the pros take spills now and then, and it’s all part of the learning process, so have no fears if you are a new rider!

On the other hand, if you ARE a pro, and you definitely want to practice riding switch and hitting kickers and flighter boxes, then Wake the Lake is a great place to practice. No choppy water, consistent pull on the tow, and you don’t have to wait for the boat to drive around again to pick you up. Plus, when you’re done, our cable brings you right back to the dock!

LANIERWORLD IS OPEN!! FINALLY!!

Monday, May 13th, 2013

You guys! LanierWorld opened this weekend and we could not be more ecstatic! We’re so pumped up we’ve been giving away daily passes and more on Facebook and Twitter all week long! In addition to those amazing give-aways, we’re kicking off the summer with our featured daily activities as of last Thursday. Here’s what’s happening at the Resort daily:

Masterpiece Mondays: These are SO MUCH FUN. Here’s the skinny: you show up, you pay $35, you get instruction from a legit instructor who teaches you all how to paint a super pretty picture (see below). And since you can paint a different picture every week, you can easily rack up a pretty impressive gallery of your own art! Or, you could sign it and tell people a famous artist painted it! (We won’t tell!)

See how they’re the same picture, but different? These two people went to the same class and came out with two unique and beautiful pictures.

The Details: 6pm every Monday at Sunset Cove; $35 includes food and drink from a select menu, all painting supplies, canvas, and instruction.

Volleyball Tuesdays: Do you love to dig, bump, set, and spike? Then we’ve got the event for you! Where else on Lake Lanier can you go play outdoor volleyball on a pristine sand beach with your friends? Enjoy pick up games at the Sunset Cove volleyball courts, and when you’re ready to take a break, check out our food and drink specials at the Sunset Cove Beach Cafe & Club!

The Details: Tuesdays, all day at Sunset Cove! Our courts are free to play on, just be friendly!

Wake ‘N Surf Wednesdays: Come check out our BRAND NEW 5 for 5 Wake ‘n Surf Wednesdays! Every Wednesday from 6 – 8 p.m., experience our new Wake the Lake Cable Park with all of your friends! For ONLY $5, you get 5 laps or 5 minutes on the entire course. Wakeboard or ski across the Cove, showing off your water sport skills! Marine Max will sponsor the event the first Wednesday of every month. Join in with the interactive water sports, instructional rides and demonstrations in the Cove. You don’t want to miss this deal of the summer!

The Details: At Sunset Cove, 6-8pm every Wednesday; $5 for 5 laps, OR $5 for 5 minutes on the course.

Low Country Boil Thursdays: Whether you’re visiting for a day or you’ve lived in the South your whole life, you have GOT to come check out our Low Country Boils. It’s the ultimate feast, combining corn on the cob, boiled red potatoes, smoked country sausage, and delicious seafood. Throw in some Old Bay seasoning and some tongs and you have, without question, one of the very best meals the South has to offer.

The Details: 6pm every Thursday at Sunset Cove. $19.95.

Flip Flop Fridays: Come hang out at Sunset Cove, where there’s drink specials and DJ requests all night! The sunset is gorgeous every time, so put your feet up by our outdoor firepits and relax the night away!
