All New Menu at Bullfrog’s Bar & Grille!

Thursday, February 6th, 2014

Our New Year’s Resolutions included making your dining experiences even better, so we totally revamped our BullFrog’s menu! Now featuring even tastier burgers, steaks, salmon and more, the BullFrog’s of 2014 will be one of your top foodie destinations for the whole Lake Lanier area from down in Buford all the way up to Gainesville! Let’s take you through some old favorites that got an upgrade and some new flavors that are sure to delight your inner food snob.

We’ll start with our appetizers. We’re trying something new in the BullFrog’s kitchen, something that’s a very popular Southern flavor: Mini Chicken Waffle Bites. Chicken-n-waffles is a tried and true staple south of the Mason-Dixon line, so we’re very excited to be adding our take on it. We opted for the minis so everyone at your table could try some sugary goodness. They’re served hot with maple syrup, ancho chili powdered sugar, and a side of strawberry butter. Heaven.

You can start with those or any of our other 10 appetizers before moving on to a refreshing salad. Try our Southwestern Salad or Asian Mandarin Salad for a taste of culture, and top it with one of nine dressings, including one called “warm bacon” (how could that possibly be bad?) or our gluten-free mango pineapple vinaigrette.

Maybe you want a sandwich, and maybe you want fish on that sandwich! Boy are you in luck, because it literally does not get better than our Salmon BLT. Seriously. This is the sandwich that other sandwiches wish they could be. The David Beckham of sandwiches, if you will. Only instead of perfectly sculpted muscles, our sandwich has perfectly sculpted flaky croissant bread, and instead of pleasing your soccer buds, our sandwich is going to please your tastebuds. Oh, we also brought back the ever-popular French Dip.

This year we’re bringing our A Game to the table! A as in Angus. Tuck your napkin in your collar and check out our Signature Big Bullfrog Burger. This grilled behemoth of a burger comes with crumbled blue cheese, buffalo sauce, black & tan onion rings, and thick peppered bacon stacked high on lettuce, tomato, red onions, and pickle chips. Your tastebuds won’t know what to do with themselves. They might explode in happiness, they might sprout spirit fingers, they might throw a party. There’s no knowing in advance.

Perhaps you’d like a heartier fare? Try a 12oz. center-cut Rib Eye Steak or our 8oz Sirloin. You won’t find a better steak anywhere on the Lake. These savory slabs of meat are served with our signature Red Wine Demi Butter.

Since you’re on the lake, go with our 8oz. Atlantic Salmon with teriyaki or citrus butter. Our salmon comes in fresh and practically melts in your mouth. These fish are so lovingly seasoned that you’ll want to head back into our kitchen and hug your chef. Or, if you have a spare tarp to wrap around your clothes, you might want to bust it out before you order our Signature Firehouse Ribs. These bad boys are marinated in the Williams Family Signature Recipe (top secret, of course), and slow cooked for fall-off-the-bone yummy times. Don’t even play. This is for serious dining patrons with something to prove – like how much awesome they can handle in one sitting.

Now for dessert, if you can even handle it, we have something new and exciting that you won’t find anywhere else. The BullFrog’s Caramel Banana Topped Waffle could be classified as one of the Wonders of the World, but for some reason it doesn’t last very long once we put it on a plate. It could have something to do with how insanely amazing it tastes.

Now, pick your tongue up off the floor, get in your car or boat, and leap on in to BullFrogs Bar & Grille for a hoppin’ good time!!

Check out the FULL MENU here, and don’t forget to stop by for special dining events here at Legacy Lodge at Lake Lanier Islands!!

Save The Horses Fall Festival & Fundraiser at Lake Lanier Islands Resort

Monday, October 28th, 2013

This past Saturday, the Stables at Lake Lanier Islands were very proud to host the Save the Horses Fall Festival & Fundraiser. There were all kids of great activities, like face-painting, bouncy rides, pony rides, a pony-decorating contest, stick horse derbies, pumpkin contests and more!! The kids had a blast, and we’re not just talking about the little goats in the petting zoo! Even better, with your help we managed to raise almost $3,000 for the Winter Feed Program! If that doesn’t make you smile, we don’t know what will!

It was a gorgeous day on Saturday, and everyone had a really great time! The line was long but quick for pony rides, and the demonstrations by Sky Acres Farms were incredible to watch.

The Fall Derby Stick Horse Races were a great success, with kids riding the little stick horses from cone A to cone B and laughing all the way. The main event for the Derby was the Legacy Derby, where we picked 3 adults to skip as fast as they could to the blue barrel and back. Michelle had her game face on, and while Russell was enthusiastic, he couldn’t quite catch up with Michelle after they rounded the barrel. It was an exciting photo finish as Michelle took the victory!

While the arena was active, there was a milder activity happening right beside it… Casper and Black Jack came out to play with the younger kids and participated in a dress-up contest! Casper’s mane was a big hit, while Black Jack wore the orange and black boa better.

Another big hit at the party was little Cooper! Cooper smiled and danced his way into our audience’s hearts. Our guests could even lead him around a bit to learn more about him.

In addition to all the fun and games, we were also giving out prizes like crazy!! Here’s a couple of our winners, including Miss Grand Prize herself!

All in all it was a fantastic event, and we’re really looking forward to making this event an annual one! We couldn’t do it without your help, and we feel very proud to support and sponsor Save the Horses, and we’re very eager to continue to promote its mission of rescue and rehabilitation for abused equines. If you’d like to learn more about Save the Horses, you can check out their website here. We’re also hosting a photo contest over on the Stables facebook page!

Sunset Cove Fall and Winter Hours of Operation

Monday, October 14th, 2013

Attention fellow food and Lake Lovers! Today (Columbus Day) is the last day that Sunset Cove Restaurant and Cafe will be open during the week until Magical Nights of Lights Starts.

Sunset Cove Restaurant and Cafe is one of the most popular lakeside eating destinations on Lake Lanier. There aren’t a ton of places on the Lake where you can just dock your boat and walk right up to get some grub, and Sunset Cove frequently offers live music in addition to giant fire pits and big screen tvs for optimal sports-watching. But as winter approaches and temperatures begin to drop, we find that people are much less likely to want margaritas and ice cream, and much more likely to want soup and hot chocolate.

That’s why we’re very happy to announce that Sunset Cove will be getting some modifications in the near future to combat the encroaching cold. This information is hot off the presses, so check back regularly here, on our Facebook page, and Twitter page for more details as they come out!

Ruckus Comes to Lake Lanier Islands This November!

Wednesday, October 9th, 2013
Ruckus. Think of mud. And endurance, and courage, and perseverance, and determination. But mostly, think of mud.
The Ruckus obstacle race is one of the nation’s premier 5K series, and on November 16, it’s going to be right here at Lake Lanier Islands. Ruckus may seem intimidating at first for those of us who aren’t quite the studly studs we were in college, but event coordinators have made sure there’s something for anyone aged 2-82! It’s all achievable – one of the messages that Ruckus promotes. In fact, very nearly 100% of runners finish, and that’s a pretty big achievement for a 5K obstacle race! It was even purposefully created for those looking for the adult playground experience. Who doesn’t look at a kids’ playground and think about how fun it was to clamber all over the climbing walls and slide down the ridiculously hot metal slides? No hot metal slides at Ruckus though, you’ll have to be satisfied with immense mud hills, piles of tires, and mud gardens. Sounds like a fun time, right?! And no parents to fuss at you for getting mud all over your clothes! In fact, Ruckus has even been described as everything from “the ultimate family adventure,” to “the #1 obstacle race under 10k.” So come on out and experience an environment that is challenging, rewarding, and fun.
Come run Ruckus Atlanta at Lake Lanier Islands for yourself or enjoy the kids obstacle race (they did say there was something for everyone!). The Mini Ruckus is an awesome way to get your kids involved in the obstacle race fun.

Ahem, we are running (see what we did there?) a bit of a special for our Ruckus runners. Reserve your room November 15 or 16 and receive a Ruckus discount! Just use the promotional code “131115RUCK”, and book your stay at their stunning hotel rooms and suites equipped with the finest amenities! Click here to reserve you room.

Now here’s something that will get you excited about getting those running shoes all dirtified! Ruckus Sports is excited to partner with Barrel Aid to provide shoes to children and teens in need. Barrel Aid will collect your muddy shoes post-event, clean them and ship them to Mission-Haiti’s schools in the mountains around Ti-Rivier, Haiti, with all of the remaining shoes going to children and teens in need in the Dakota area. Barrel Aid supplies clean shoes, fresh water, food, schooling and hope for over 1,600 children in Southern Haiti where no other groups are serving and the need is extremely urgent. So you can feel good about the race, and then feel great about helping out a kid who could one day be the next Usain Bolt. Usain Bolt 2.0 with your running shoes.

There’s really no reason not to sign up and run the Ruckus. So, for more information on this totally awesome event, check out runruckus.com, or you can follow them on twitter, or like them on facebook. Or all of those. More pictures!!

Lake Lanier Islands presents: Fall!

Monday, September 30th, 2013

Well, ladies and gentlemen, Autumn has arrived, and with it we have beautiful leaves, nippier weather, a whole new color palette, cookouts, school for the young-un’s, and of course, pumpkin-spice everything. You may have started noticing minor changes a few weeks ago. A dropped leaf browning on the sidewalk here, a fellow passerby with long sleeves there. The scarves are out at department stores everywhere, and heaven help us, they’ve even started bringing out the Christmas decorations to sit beside the Halloween masks. Here at the Lake, we’ve already begun to see hints of the sort of sweeping transformation that north Georgia and Appalachia are famous for. Indeed, the changing of the leaves in the southeast can actually be seen from outer space! How’s that for a natural wonder of the world?? Of course, we think Lake Lanier is beautiful in every season, but for sheer vibrance, fall simply can’t be beat. We’ll just leave you here to gaze at the marvelous splendor of Mother Nature.

Lake Lanier Islands Fall Wine Cruise Series

Monday, September 16th, 2013

If you haven’t had a chance to come out to one of our incredible wine cruises, you are missing an opportunity both unique and exciting. Fortunately for you, we have two more cruises lined up for October 6th and 20th!

Guests will interact with winemakers and other knowledgeable wine industry insiders for a cruise aboard the Island Princess complete with wine samples and creatively conceived appetizers that pair with each wine. Every wine cruise is different, but in the past, we’ve had gorgonzola-stuffed strawberries, caramelized onion Consommé Boules with lemon crème fraîche (tiny french onion soup loaf bowls for you non-French-speakers), and lamb lollipops with raspberry gastrique, and so much more!

Our wine cruises have become immensely popular – we’ve seen birthdays, congratulations for new jobs and promotions, engagements and anniversaries. Big groups and small groups, girlfriends and bros, young couples and elderly couples, business associates and family reunions, everyone has a great time on our cruises! Read about one of our June cruises here!

Here’s what some of our guests said about their experience on the Island Princess:

“The weather wasn’t the best, but the crew really took care of us, and the food was to die for!” – Sarah F.

“It was my birthday, so my sorority sisters took me on the wine cruise. I’m used to box wine [laughing], so of course the wines were amazing! I’m kidding! No really, I think it was my favorite birthday so far, everyone was so nice!” – Kara S.

“My wife insisted we come out and try it. Don’t tell her, but I had a lot of fun.” – Howard T.

The Island Princess will set sail at 2pm from Harbor Landing, and dock again at 5pm. This unique opportunity to cruise beautiful Lake Lanier with friends and associates is really going to make for a special and fun Sunday in October. Come see the leaves changing colors while you taste fabulous wines from all over the world!

For individuals, the entry is $50, and for a couple, $90. All guests can order the wines they sampled at the conclusion of each cruise. To sign up, please call our concierge at (770) 945-8787.
