Ride the Slides at LanierWorld Like Never Before!

Monday, September 22nd, 2014

Snow is coming to LanierWorld, and that might be the most exciting thing to happen in Georgia since the Braves won the World Series! By now you’ve probably heard all about how we’re making sure there’s a 100% chance of snow from November through the end of February with the transformation of LanierWorld into SnowWorld. Of course you know that there will be 4 snow packed play areas. And naturally you know about our Polar skating rink. Surely you’re excited about meeting Santa and sipping hot chocolate by the fire. But we haven’t elaborated as much on what is sure to be one of the most popular attractions at SnowWorld!

Thrilling Speed Slides!

Speaking of the World Series, we’re pretty sure the Intimidator at SnowWorld is going to be the most exciting slide in Georgia since the Sid Bream slide! The Intimidator and Triple Threat have long been highly visual landmarks at LanierWorld, epic icons jutting into the sky, standing monuments to daredevil teenagers, macho men, and determined moms alike. But these monuments to speed have always been, shall we say, “watered down.” This winter season, you’ll get to experience these slides in a way that no one has ever experienced water slides. We’re turning off the water, and we’re slicking up the slides with our top-secret turbo-charged go-fast formula! Grab a sled and plummet down the fastest hills in Georgia!

What Can I Ride?

Aside from the Intimidator and the Triple Threat – both rated black diamonds, you’ll be able to sled down an incredible vortex when the FunDunker transforms, and race your friends in a daring plunge at Racing Waters! Five incredible opportunities to sled down five totally unique slides! This ain’t your neighbor’s front yard – you’re going to want to come back again and again and again!

For the parents:

Slide intensity is designated by classic skiing icons. Black diamonds are the most intense, followed by blue squares, and then green circles for little to no intensity. Look for these designations on the signs containing the slides’ names. Rules and regulations will also appear on these signs, please read them carefully before allowing your child to participate.

Educator Appreciation Tuesdays at LanierWorld!

Monday, July 14th, 2014

Being a teacher is hard. Legitimately, ridiculously, seriously hard. Luckily, there’s a built-in thing called “summer” where the kids go home, the school doors are shut, the playground is empty and the chalkboards are wiped clean. Kids dream of summer vacation all year long, but really, so do teachers! It’s not quite the same thing, of course. Where kids dream about staying out late and catching fireflies, teachers dream about their curriculum for the next school year. Where kids lay out by the pool every day, teachers lay out lesson plans for the next school year. Where kids stock up on water balloons, ice pops, video games and orange slices, teachers stock up on reams of paper, dry erase markers, folders and boxes of Kleenex. Teachers don’t get to have the same summer vacation that kids get, but that’s not to say teachers don’t get to have any fun at all. In fact, here at Lake Lanier, we want to make sure teachers get to have the great summer vacation they deserve.

That’s why we’re offering Teacher Tuesdays! Every single Tuesday this summer, you can show your teacher ID at the LanierWorld gate and you’ll get half-off for up to 6 members in your party! Who says being a teacher doesn’t come with summer perks? Not you, after this summer!

So teachers, when you’re reading those “What I Did This Summer” essays you assign at the beginning of the school year, you can know that your students’ summer didn’t even come close to your own!

Christmas in July at Lake Lanier Islands Resort

Monday, July 7th, 2014

It’s July and even though it’s mid-summer, we’re already looking forward to the Christmas season. Starting on Monday, July 7th, we’ll begin Christmas in July here at LanierWorld at Lake Lanier Islands Resort. All week long, from July 7th through the 11th, you can bring a donation to LanierWorld benefiting Toys for Tots.

As an added benefit, each toy you bring with you to LanierWorld this July will give you half-off regular price admission to LanierWorld. Let’s give back to local children in need and make this Christmas a day for them to remember.

Please be sure that your donations are new, unwrapped children’s toys.

Toys for Tots is a fantastic charity operated by the US Marine Corp Reserve. Their goal is to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.

Now, normally the Marines organize toy drop sites in October, November and December, but we figure the best way to make sure they can collect the MOST toys in our area is to take advantage of our large LanierWorld crowds. Our community is one of the best in the Southeast for providing support to charity organizations, so we made sure Toys for Tots would set up a drop site here, a whole three months early! And all because we know how generous you all are! Let’s make it a perfect Christmas for hundreds of little kids across the United States!
