It’s the weekend here at Lake Lanier Islands, and you’ve come to the right blog to see what’s happening at LanierWorld and Sunset Cove! First things first, let’s check out the weather report:

Now, without further ado, here are the fun times we have scheduled for your leisurely pursuit!

SPECIAL EVENTS

SweetWater Shrimp Fest – Saturday, May 3, 2014, 11am-5pm; Sunset Cove

Lake Lanier Islands Resort teams up with SweetWater Brewing Company, Georgia’s favorite local brewery, to bring you the Shrimp Fest to end all shrimp fests! We’ll have all kinds of food trucks and local restaurants down at Sunset Cove, and they’ll all be bringing their best seafood game for your enjoyment! How many ways can you eat shrimp? Just ask Bubba: “Anyway, like I was sayin’, shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, sauté it. Dey’s uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There’s pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that’s about it.”

In addition to these amazing and delicious food samples, we’ve got the SweetWater Beer Garden, live music all day, tons of volleyball, and even a Kids Zone with bouncy houses! When you’re stuffed to the rafters and you want to let it settle before you head home, you can hang around after the event and jam with Riley Biederer from 6-10pm!

Admission to the Shrimp Fest is $10/person. When you pay your parking fee at the gate, don’t forget to keep your receipt, because that will cover one of your carful of people.
